This was a lovely tour with lots of very interesting stops.We went to an old fashioned dumpling store,sake factory,saw the snow monkeys and ate great noodles.A very different but enriching experience with a wonderful guide.

Overview of your Nagano tour
Would you like to see country side of Japan which is rich in nature, traditions and local food? Would you like to travel at ease? Then please join my tour! I will tell you all about the interesting history, traditions in food, art and culture that only a local like me can tell you. Many people who joined my tour said the day with me was the highlights of their time in Japan! In the morning we'll explore old part of Nagano. Please choose from options on the itinerary. In the afternoon, we'll go meet world-famous snow monkeys in beautiful forests. You can get to be very close to them. Being close to wild animals is a magical experience. In green season, you'll get to see adorable new-born babies too! In addition, beautiful view of country side and walk in forest will relax you, being away from big cities. I went on the food and sake tour in the morning, and visited the monkeys in the afternoon. Eriko was lovely, knowledgeable and accommodating, and made sure that we stayed on track and on time. This is a very packed day if you are trying to come from Tokyo and get back in one day, but it is doable. Visiting the monkeys is really a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I think that doing the tour this way was much better than in a big bus group.

Eriko is an incredible tour guide. She is very professional, friendly, kind and had everything planned out perfectly. This was definitely the best part of our trip. Seeing the snow monkeys in their natural habitat was a once in a lifetime experience. Meet the guide at Nagano Station Please choose 1option for morning 1, Food tour(Sake brewery, Traditional dumpling place) 2, Cultural tour(Zenkoji temple for fire ceremony, traditional dumpling cafe) 3, Town of Obuse 45mins train ride, enjoying view of country side. Yudanaka Sta Take a taxi/bus 30minutes walk in forest to snow monkey park. Enjoy watching wild monkeys. **The trail is slippery with snow and ice in winter. It is a MUST to wear a non slippery shoes. **There are times that the monkeys are absent from the park. In that case I will provide an alternative options. **In winter we usually see the Snow Monkeys in the bath, but in other seasons there will be times when they hang out in the water, but please know that the monkeys are wild animals and there is no guarantee they are in the bath. 30mins walk back Bus/taxi Yudanaka Sta(If time allows, we can enjoy hot spring foot bath) 45mins express train Nagano Sta
