Nagano is where many Japanese people dream of visiting and living , because of majestic Alps, unique traditions especially in food and crafts. Stay a couple of nights at hot spring village and hike around Togakushi, Kamikoshi and Hakuba is a wonderful choice. I lived in Canada for 10 years .I have a great understanding of Japanese society and culture, and I'll be your cultural interpreter for your time in Japan to be the best use of. Would you like to see country side of Japan which is rich in nature and traditions? Would you like to travel at ease? Then please join my tour! I'll take you to you-must-see spots as well as only-locals-know spots. My favorite place to take you is Oyaki farm house cafe for lunch, which is Nagano' local food handmade by local grandma. My guests often says that it was a memorable experience to interact with locals over Oyaki. In the morning, you'll explore Nagano city, visiting famous Zenkoji temple and 200 years sake brewery for sampling. You'll get to try a wonderful local speciality called Oyaki for lunch which is grilled over wood fire at a farm house. In the afternoon, I'll take you to Matsumoto castle which is one of the oldest and the most beautiful castle in Japan. **For bigger groups more than 4 people, please ask me for rates.
Eriko was wonderful. She made train reservations for us to meet her, then had to improvise on the fly when weather affected some of what we had planned to do. She was also very knowledgeable and friendly. We would definitely book a tour with Eriko again!
Eriko had great communication leasing up to tour. She met us at station when we arrived and helped us buy the next tickets. We explored Nagano, ate delicious local dumplings made from buckeheat flour and then went to matsumoto castle! She was flexible and kind and informative !
We really enjoyed our day with Eriko. She was very knowledgeable of the area and the history of all of the sites we visited. We asked her for additional recommendations for dinners and other things that she thought we should see. Her suggestions were excellent and really helped us enjoy our time in Nagano.

*Hakuba - (If you are staying in Hakuba, it takes 1hr to Nagano station) • 9:30 - Meet the guide at Nagano station • 10am 1400 years old Zenkoji temple (touch a healing Buddha) • 10:30 - 200 years old sake brewery for sampling OR Fire ceremony at Zenkoji temple • 11am - Lunch at a traditional farm house(Oyaki, Nagano'speciality) • 12am Nagano station, Taking an hour express train, enjoying the view of country side. • 13:00 - Matsumoto station • 13:10 - Bus • 13:20 - Matsumoto castle(get inspired by beauty of it with snow covered Alps in the back ground or cherry blossom in spring) • 15:00 - Bus back to Matsumoto station • 15:30 - Take 1 hour express train back to Nagano station • 16:30 - Back to Nagano station *The tour fee is per group
