3hrs Nagano Food and Cultural Tour

Nagano is well known for unique food culture with local specialities. People in Nagano have the longest life span in Japan. You'll enjoy savouring food, learning about the secrets of longevity and food culture here, while taking a stroll in old part of Nagano, Zenkoji temple area. I'll take you to back streets of Zenkoji temple ground, exploring authentic local food stores and small temples where you wouldn't have gone otherwise. In Zenkoji temple, you'll watch a fire ceremony. Monks chant and beat drum while burning wood in front of alter. It is said the fire purify us and the smoke carry our wish to the heaven. You''ll come out with clarity of the mind/spirit. It is such a wonderful cultural experience. In my personal life, I grow food and give fermented food workshops.
