Hello, I'm Yumiko, a nationally licensed English-speaking tour guide. I was born and live in Yamanashi Prefecture, which is next to Tokyo and the home of Mt. Fuji. Yamanashi Prefecture is also famous for the largest amounts of produce of grapes and peaches in Japan. I love Mt. Fuji, grapes and peaches!! I look at and look up to Mt. Fuji every day. Mt. Fuji area is full of nature, beauty and history, and has a lot of places you must visit. Mt. Fuji was registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 2013, which is officially named "Fujisan, sacred place and source of artistic inspiration". The inscribed property consists of 25 sites which reflect the essence of Mt. Fuji's sacred and artistic landscape. In addition to these sites, there are many nice view spots, interesting museums, leisure facilities, and off-beaten spots in Mt. Fuji area. There are a lot of ways to enjoy yourself. Exploring the Aokigahara Forest and having a relaxing time at Lake Kawaguchiko is one of my favorite tours. Visiting Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine always gives me spiritual energy because of its sacred atmosphere. Cycling at Lake Kawaguchiko or Lake Yamanakako refreshes me. The view of Mt. Fuji from Arakurayama Sengen Park (Chureito Pagoda) is getting popular and famous. From the Fuji Five Lakes, you can enjoy the magnificent views of Mt. Fuji with the lake. From spring through autumn, you can go up to the 5th station by bus or taxi. If you would like to visit some off-beaten spots, I will be pleased to take you to my special places. I am also familiar with good restaurants and cafes in the area. I myself love to travel around the world, learn different cultures, find something interesting, eat local good food, and have wonderful experiences. So, I would really like you to fully enjoy your travel in Mt. Fuji area. I am ready to guide you around Mt. Fuji as your personal tour guide with cheerful and open mind. We had an amazing private tour of Hakone with our guide Yumiko! She was organized , a great communicator and a lovely person who made the tour fun despite our rainy day. She took us on the cable cars up to magnificent views where we ate black eggs. Luckily we got the last pirate ship across the lake ( due to the fog!) and Yumiko gave us some history and even showed us how to do some origami. We ate at a delicious udon restaurant before heading to a 400 year old tea house where we had yummy mochi and a hot traditional rice drink. We loved seeing Hakone shrine in a serene setting among the cedar trees . Lastly , when the sun came out, we enjoyed exploring the Hakone open air museum with its lovely landscaped grounds and sculptures . The Picasso museum was a lovely surprise before heading to our ryokan . We highly recommend Yumiko ! She is the best!
