That's why I decided to be a guide. I got the National Government License for Guide Interpreter in 2017. Then I started to work as a guide interpreter. I joined a team of Tokyo 2020 Olympic Game's official volunteers and was in charge of volleyball games. I helped many athletes in the game venue. I paid a lot of attention to providing support for them, especially because they tended to get nervous before their important matches. This opportunity was a great learning experience about how to support people from other countries. Unfortunately there were no spectators at all due to the Covid-19. "Mt Fuji Hakone was the best place I've ever been near Tokyo, " my mother, who passed away 12 years ago, said with a smile. One day, my mother, who had lived alone in the countryside, had become seriously ill. I brought her to Tokyo to take care of her. At that time, her condition was relatively stable, so I decided to go on a trip to Hakone with my mother. We had a really wonderful time there, but then she ended up in the hospital. By her bedside, my mother and I talked about many fond memories in Hakone. The Hakone gorge and river flow as seen from a mountain train, the splendid autumn leaves seen from a cable car, the black boiled egg eaten in a volcanic area by ropeway, the majestic Mt. Fuji seen from Lake Ashi, and the murmur of the wind when we cruised the lake on a pirate-shaped ship. All of them were wonderful and unforgettable memories. Mt Fuji and Hakone was a special place for my mother, and also have been a special place for me. I would like to show you around that Hakone.
