Hakone Cutomized Half-day Private Tour

Yumiko is a very kind, knowledgeable and engaging tour guide - she obviously loves her job! The day was very carefully planned - Yumiko met us with a big smile on our arrival at the Hakone train station, and it was immediately obvious that we were in for a fun experience. Everything was timed to perfection, to the point where we were delivered back to the train station right on time, as planned. The itinerary was excellent and highly interesting, with the flexibility to ensure we covered everything at a gentle pace - we were not rushed, which was fantastic. We’d highly recommend Tours by Locals, and in particular Yumiko to anyone considering a visit to Hakone. 😄

Yumiko was an amazing tour guide. She taught us so much day and really customized our trip to suite our family (traveling with 3 grown kids, ages 17, 19, and 22). She really made Hakone one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. She was the best tour guide we've had anywhere! Highly recommend!

Wow! Yumiko went above and beyond to make our tour amazing!! She has such a sweet and friendly disposition and she kept us entertained all day including when we stood in line for the Hakone Ropeway. She pulled out origami paper and taught us how to make Mt. Fuji. We experienced tastes and treats that were unique to the area and we made the most of our time in Hakone with her guidance. We HIGHLY recommend her for tours of the area. She is full of historical knowledge and cultural transitions that help to make the visit very meaningful. She came prepared with maps, photos, and more!

Yumiko was a fantastic tour guide . She was very well prepared with stories and materials to show. It was a great tour not only for the adults but the kids also. She has a very good attitude towards the kids which made them drawn towards her. Our kids are 6 and 9. They really loved her, her stories and even origami making when waiting for food at the restaurant. Strongly recommend her to anybody. Thank you
