I've known Ostuni since I was a kid, when it wasn't a tourist city yet, I used to come there to play hide and seek with my friends. I have always loved venturing into the narrow alleys, the Baroque palaces and admiring the late Gothic cathedral. What binds me in a particular way to Ostuni, as a prehistory enthusiast and scholar, is "The oldest mother in the world" a Paleolithic woman who died 28, 000 ago, found in Ostuni (discovered by Prof. Donato Coppola, dearest friend), now kept in the museum of Preclassic Civilizations (if you want and if the museum is open we can enter to see the remains). This is one of the most classic itineraries when visiting Puglia.
I have been going to these places since I was a child: I think it is beautiful to get lost in the streets of Alberobello, a city that look like the set of a fairy tale.
Ostuni, offers a panoramic view of the plain of monumental olive trees and a true example of a town perched on a hill, where the environment is dominated by the white of the houses, and the blue of the sky and the sea that surround the picture.
