Discover and enjoy the authentic Puglia. Welcome in Puglia (or Apulia): the sunny and windy "heel of the Italian boot". We are Italy's easternmost region, right in the middle of the Mediterranean sea with culture and traditions that are the results of several different dominations, cultural and economic influences. First of all I'm a traveler (for leisure and work) and I like to discover foreign countries and their culture, traditions, food, people, etc. I have been working in tourism since 1998 as travel designer, event organizer, licensed tourist guide, nature (hike and bike) and interpretive guide, tour leader, food and wine lover (olive oil taster, wine sommelier). I'm passionate about my region and I like to share our amazing attractions and culture with other people. Puglia is an "easy region": the weather is quite warm all year long (the best time to come is from March to November but it's worth to come also in winter time), people is friendly (… but only a few people speaks English or another foreign language), there are always lots of events and things to do and our Mediterranean diet is healthy and tasty for everybody (amazing choice of tasty meat, fish, pasta, rice, legumes, vegetables and fruit recipes). Travelers who come for the first time in Puglia usually are fascinated by the Puglian daylight and the colours of the seaside and the countryside. I'll share with you the soul of Puglia, its culture, traditions, flavors, nature, scent, vibes . . . If you're looking for an hyper detailed and boring visit I'm not the tour guide for you but if you like a friendly and easy going person who will make his best, thanks to his experience and empathy, to understand and satisfy your needs, to suggest the right choices matching with your interests, to introduce in our culture and traditions, to help you in spending a very nice time … then contact me. Thanks to its natural and safe port, Brindisi has always been a strategic city in the Mediterranean Sea. In the Roman age, it was connected with Rome thanks to the Appian Way (called the queen of the roads) passing from Taranto and with the Traiana Way passing from Bari and Egnazia. During the Norman and Swabian domination, it was one of the main ports of embarkation for pilgrims and crusaders. From the opening of the Suez Canal to the 1st World War, it was the port of the Indian Mail Route (London-Brindisi-Bombay). Ostuni is called "the white city" because of its skyline, made by whitewashed houses along winding streets up on the hill, with terraces overlooking a breathtaking panorama of the countryside and woods of olive groves sloping down to the sea. The stunning view of the millennium old olive trees is a postcard you'll always carry in your heart. Alessandro took us on a wonderful tour of Brindisi and Ostuni. He was very knowledgeable and flexible and spoke fluent English. The history, culture and architect of the places we visited he explained very clearly and informatively and with a sense of humour. We had an amazing day— the level of knowledge of and curation by Alessandro was a gift. We learned so much and were glad to have the private tour so we could ask questions and gain local insights. Alessandro showed my wife and I around Brindisi while we were visiting for our honeymoon and it was one of the highlights of our time there. He walked us around town explaining how the town came to be and showed us different styles of architecture, local plant life, and ancient ruins underneath the city streets. He knew so much about the town and was humorous and friendly. We ended our tour with a wine tasting and loved the experience so much we took some bottles home for special occasions.
Alessandro was able to accommodate our last-minute request for a tour, and we're glad he was able to. He is very knowledgeable about the local culture and its heritage. He took us to Ostuni, pointing out several important sites along the way, always with a colorful narrative. After a wonderful tour there, we returned to Brindisi, where he gave us a tour of the city and several important landmarks of note. Allesandro is the best! He knows so much about so much including special sites like monolithic structures, 3,000 year old olive groves, the flora & fauna of the area & is both an olive oil & wine sommelier. Our olive oil mill visit was amazing, a brilliant experience. Our Ostuni & Brindisi visits were wonderful including a lunch in the back of grocery store. His concierge service is truly excellent. I could not more highly recommend Alessandro Perrone with whom with had 6 full day excellent guided tours.
Despite the August heat, Alessandro was always happy to show me the beautiful area of Puglia. I feel very fortunate to have visited with a private, very knowledgeable guide. What beautiful cities with incredible histories. I really enjoyed the stories he told that you wouldn't read about in a tour book. Thanks for a very memorable experience Alessandro!

We can personalize the tour with a tasting (wine, olive oil, coffee, etc. ), a visit to a masseria with pre-roman olive oil mill carved in the rock, a Palaeolithic archeological site and museum, amazing wood carving handicrafts, some hiking up on the hill or by the sea!
