Thanks to its natural and safe port, Brindisi has always been a strategic city in the Mediterranean Sea. In the Roman age, it was connected with Rome thanks to the Appian Way (called the queen of the roads) passing from Taranto and with the Traiana Way passing from Bari and Egnazia. During the Norman and Swabian domination, it was one of the main ports of embarkation for pilgrims and crusaders. From the opening of the Suez Canal to the 1st World War, it was the port of the Indian Mail Route (London-Brindisi-Bombay). Ostuni is called "the white city" because of its skyline, made by whitewashed houses along winding streets up on the hill, with terraces overlooking a breathtaking panorama of the countryside and woods of olive groves sloping down to the sea. The stunning view of the millennium old olive trees is a postcard you'll always carry in your heart. I was born and raised in this amazing area in the middle of Puglia and I'm eager to be your tour guide, nature guide, wine and olive oil sommelier
• Walking tour of Brindisi : - Stop at the daily food market - Norman temple of S. Giovanni al Sepolcro - St. Benedict (an Apulian Romanesque church with its fine decorated medieval cloister) - S. Pietro degli Schiavoni and Granafei Nervegna Palace with roman archeological findings - Duomo square (with the cathedral, the so called Portico of the Knights Templar) - Terminal columns of the Appian Way - Down the "steps of Virgilio" - Promenade alongside the sea. • Driving along the coast with stop to take some pictures of a millennium old olive grove. • Walking tour of Ostuni with its stunning skyline. From Piazza della Libertà, climb up to the hill to admire the stunning facade of the Cathedral and to enjoy some breathtaking panorama. We can personalize the tour with a tasting (wine, olive oil, coffee, etc. ), a visit to a masseria with pre-roman olive oil mill carved in the rock, a Palaeolithic archeological site and museum, amazing wood carving handicrafts, some hiking up on the hill or by the sea!
