Dear visitor, my name is Ioannis and I am a licensed tour guide based in Aliki, Boeotia. I have studied History and Archaeology in the University of Athens, where I was the valedictorian of my class, graduating with a 1st class honours degree. During my studies, I have also received two awards from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation for being 1st of my class. After my graduation, I continued my studies, obtaining a Master's degree in Modern History from the University College London (UCL) and an MA in Cultural Management from Panteio University. After working for a while as a teacher, I decided to retrain myself as a tour guide and here I am! I specialize in private tours of Delphi and the surrounding Boeotian region, sharing its rich history, mythology, and hidden gems with visitors from all over the world. I am offering tours in English, French and Greek. I would love to talk to you about Greek history and culture! For me, guiding in Delphi and Boeotia is like walking through the pages of Greek history and mythology. From the world-famous Oracle of Apollo to the lesser-known ancient cities of Boeotia, every tour is a journey through time and stories that still captivate the imagination today. I am also available for nature tours if you want to explore the wilderness! I am generally a friendly, relaxed and easy going person, who loves talking about history and culture. I am also an artistic person who loves photography and film making. I have actually graduated from the Focus School of Photography in Athens and I am currently preparing some photo tours as well! I have lived abroad and I have travelled a lot, something that made me realize that every culture is unique and deserves respect. This was a really interesting tour delivered by Ioannis who clearly knows so much about the history and mythology of the site. We started at the museum which was definitely the correct way to see the site - there are so many wonderful exhibits and Ioannis described them so well and brought them to life. The descriptions were clear, thoughtful and often amusing. Then walking round the site was so much more meaningful, and what a marvellous site Delphi is. It is hard to imagine a better tour - it was that good! If you’re going to Delphi make sure you meet up with Ioannis.

Outstanding tour with Ioannis. He was a font of knowledge about Delphi, Greek history and the area in general. He led on a tour of museum, explaining each room and the major sites/themes within. We then walked up the hill to the historic sites, and he explained exactly what we were seeing, and what we would have seen when the site was fully occupied. He really brought the past to life--and pointed out the best picture spots! Ask him to tell you about how Aesop met his end at Delphi! Would definitely tour with Ioannis again.
