Three Lakes and Alpine Vistas – Hiking Day Trip from Garmisch

Hike like a local with me on this circuit tour near Garmisch that takes us past three lakes and treats us to amazing views of the Wetterstein and Karwendel Mountains. The vistas of the mountains against the backdrop of the lakes are a memory to be cherished forever! With all the hiking and the fresh air, you'll surely get hungry, too. So we'll find a cosy picknick spot and enjoy some Bavarian sandwiches. Why did people back in the day think it necessary to calm the lakes with sermons and sacrifices? You will find out on this tour and will learn about the culture of the region and of course the geology of the mountains. Let's leave the beaten track and go where the locals go. Short Facts: - Easy Hike - Hiking Distance: 12. 5 km - Hiking Time: 3. 5 hours - Elevation Gain: 100 m Itinerary: - This tour begins with a short train ride from Garmisch railway station. - We will start our hike against the dramatic backdrop of the Karwendel mountains and will arrive at a beautiful lake with amazing mountain vistas after a short while. - The bigger second lake follows shortly after. If the weather allows it, we can take a dip before continuing along the shore. - A yummy lunch awaits at a local restaurant en route and replenished, we will return to the the station and then to Garmisch. Fitness and Equipment: - You should have a good fitness level and no health concerns. - Please make sure to wear layered clothes (to shed as necessary) and sturdy walking shoes with a good profile / grip. - Bring sunglasses, a hat, and water (1. 5 to 2 litres per person).
