I'm Mohamed, a Cologne native, 60, and father of two. Since 2015, I've guided around 250 tours every year, mostly for English-speaking river-cruise travelers. That experience has taught me what curious visitors from abroad want to discover – and sometimes what they hesitate to ask. Before becoming a guide, I spent almost 20 years working in international sales, an experience that taught me to listen first and understand what matters to people. My promise is simple: I walk you inside. Cologne is much more than its cathedral – it's Roman and medieval, destroyed and rebuilt. I show you the doors, stories, and moments that bring it to life: a sung midday prayer, a family's story in the pavement, and the city's second life after 1945. Committed and factual – and always with time for a Kölsch.

By 1945, most of Cologne lay in ruins. This walk follows the city's second life: how it survived, what it lost, and how it was rebuilt. We start in Deutz at the church-shaped bunker on Helenenwallstraße, a wartime shelter that hides in plain sight. From there we walk along the Rhine on the Kennedy-Ufer, named after JFK following his 1963 visit to Cologne, and up to the Triangle viewing platform for the best panorama of the rebuilt skyline. We cross the Hohenzollern Bridge on foot, pass Dani Karavan's Ma'alot, and stop at Stolpersteine, the small brass stones that mark where persecuted neighbours once lived. We finish at the cathedral, which was still standing when the city around it was not. No dramatics, no sermon: just facts, places and context, often from a German angle you won't find in the guidebooks. Questions are welcome at every step. For individual requests a customization of this Tour is possible
