Being born in 1977, my early travels brought me foremost into Southern Europe. Travelling became my early passion (which it still is), so my professional career had to be related to discovering the world. This dream became true! In the 2000s, after my tourism studies and first travel experiences in the US and in Canada, I established a media office and started as a freelance journalist specialized in travel and tourism. To date I have been travelling to more than 45 countries worldwide, always learning about and from great people while listening to their stories, about their cultural backrounds and about the places they live. Although many of my travel reports take place in foreign countries, Germany and Rhine Valley where I was born have always been more than a homebase. For me this region is home! Not only the city of Bonn that was Germanys capital city from 1949 on and remained the center of German policy until 1999. Bonn, the place I am living, has always been a place of history. . . It is the birthplace of the iconic composer Ludwig van Beethoven whose 250th anniversary we celebrated in 2020. It was the place, where German chancellor Konrad Adenauer and French president Charles de Gaulle laid the foundation for modern European Union. Today Bonn serves as Germanys United Nations capital. But Bonn and Cologne offer more: Beautiful surroundings in Rhine valley, local food and brewing culture, the low mountain ranges of Siebengebirge and Eifel that are amazing places for hiking and biking. And the famous Nürburgring Formula 1 motor circuit that British Formula 1 World Champion Jackie Stewart once called "The Green Hell". Only a few places that are worth being discovered. So why did I decide to offer my service as a local tour guide in my home region to you? Well, there is one particular thing that unites us: It's our passion, our passion for travelling. Travel journalism is about the passion for travelling. It is about finding great people, great places, great stories all around the world, making them public and sharing them with readers. Tour guiding in my home region again is exactly the same, but right the opposite as well: It's about finding great people, great places, great stories and making them public. To passionate travellers - to you - who come and show your passion for travelling when visiting my home region. This is what I am inviting you to do. I hope to see you soon on one of my guided tours.
