Hello dear visitor and welcome to Nice and the French Riviera! My name is Yvonne and I am a Munich-born German. I always loved French culture and traditions and I studied them before deciding to move abroad 28 years ago. First to Turkey on the Aegean Coast for a short stay, and then to France on the French Riviera, where I worked at Nice International Airport in the ground handling department and where I had to deal with many guests and cultures. I really liked this human dimension and I always wanted to help travellers enjoy their stay in the region by giving them local tips and advice. Knowing that, I decided to change my professional direction and went back to study Art (especially 19th-century art) and Architecture at the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis to become a licensed tour guide, leading in German, French and English. Moving to the French Riviera, I immediately fell in love with this region, with its golden light, the bold colours of its vegetation and picturesque villages filled with history and art; my favourite are Cannes, Antibes, Aix-en-Provence, Monaco and Saint-Paul de Vence, where I have been guiding for the last few years, always trying to create tailor-made itineraries off the beaten path with unique details and interesting anecdotes. My job is my true passion and I love to share it with my guests and to rediscover all these magnificent sites through their eyes again every single day. I am specialized in single-day or multiple-day private tours stretching from the French Riviera both to Provence and the Italian Riviera with all their gems but other options of tour durations can be organized. Visit the charming capital of the Alpes-Maritimes county on the famous Promenade des Anglais. Enjoy the multicolored houses of the old town or walk along its beautiful Angels' bay. I will tell you about Nice's history and stories about the people. We can also start with a climb up to the Castle Hill which is ideally situated between the old town and the port and a favorite site as well for locals and visitors. We will walk on shaded paths up to different view-points and take the opportunity for great pictures and to sip a drink or coffee before our way down to the old town of Nice. Discover the narrow streets where it is always wonderful to stroll as the temperature is always confortable and fresh. Enjoy local food on the daily food market on Saleya Square (except on Mondays) and try Socca and pissaladière (onion cake) Walk then from the Quay of the United States to the Promenade des Anglais. Discover facades of early 20th century hotels and admire the Art Deco buildings.
Yvonne was SUPERB!! I had high expectations and she exceeded them all. If you are hoping to find a guide with a focus on history, culture, food, shopping and anything else you can imagine - Yvonne is all that and more. In addition to being so good, so professional and so punctual - she is also an absolute delight.
