Van Gogh in Arles, Saint Rémy and Les Baux de Provence full day tour

Our second day with Olivier and he certainly was able to make this day even more memorable. The focus was Van Gogh and he certainly delivered. Our first stop was Arles, a wonderful city that showcased many of the aspects of the Roman architecture as well as visits to some of Van Gogh's locations for his paintings. Even more breathtaking were the limestone mountains and a visit to Les Baux de Provence up on the hilltop. The final stop was Saint Remy de Provence for a great lunch and to us the best stop of the day. We cannot thank Olivier enough for all the special memories we shared during our time together. He is a wonderful person with an engaging personality, much more than just a tour guide. We are fortunate to have found a new friend and if ever in the US please look us up, we would love to see you again. Thanks so much for making our days together so memorable

It was a great day. Olivier showed us a lot of the places associated with Van Gogh in Arles and outside of St. Remy, bringing along his art book so he could show us the painting next to the inspiration -- fascinating. We enjoyed our visit to Les Baux which is a stunning town set high in the mountains. Olivier also showed the Roman ruins in Arles and the aqueduct outside of town, so the day was a variety of periods, cultures and interests. We recommend this tour.

Olivier lead us on the most amazing tour! He is so sweet and personable! We are huge Van Gogh fans and he brought us to so many of the places that had been a part of this wonderful artist’s life! Olivier also showed us the Roman ruins and the most spectacular views! It was surreal! He also introduced us to the most delicious restaurant, showed us all the quaint shops, and even went out of his way for us to stop and buy the best olive oil! Our day in Arles with Olivier was a true delight. Our group of 4 was particularly interested in Van Gogh and Olivier hit all of our objectives. He suggested a nice restaurant for lunch and we traversed Arles and St. Remy. Olivier was engaging, personable, knowledgeable and friendly. We learned of the history of Van Gogh and the somewhat tortured life that he lived for two years in both towns. Olivier is the perfect guide with mix of knowledge and pleasant, positive attitude.
