I have been a tour guide for over 20 years, which adds to my passion for Egyptian history. I have a bachelor's degree in Egyptology and I have been to 25 countries, so I was exposed to many cultures, therefore I'm very flexible and adaptable to tourists with different backgrounds. I organize tours from A to Z; including transportation, reservation and guiding for small or large groups; whether you're in Luxor for a short time or going on a cruise for a few days, my expertise covers Luxor and the surrounding towns with all the monumental sites and fun excursions you might be interested in. I work on a freelance basis so I do tours for travel agencies plus organize my own tours based on my clients' preferred itineraries. Besides archaeological sites, I can also recommend places to eat or go shopping at, as well as advise you on what to do and what to avoid. I do enjoy working with people as I have spent most of my career life meeting people from different backgrounds and taking them around on different tours. Luxor has a lot to offer travellers, especially when it comes to history; I'd rate it as the most interesting historical city in the world as it houses some of the best well preserved and famous ancient temples & tombs. Whether you like history or just marking down your travel list, Luxor will definitely amaze you and you will want to come back to see more of it. The one advice I often give to travelers before they come here, is that they should spend at least 2 days in Luxor considering the amount of interesting sites you can visit without being under the pressure of rushing around or missing some of those wonderful places. Once you decide to book a tour you'll be taken care of from A to Z; I do live in Luxor and I know the tiny secrets of this town, and will be happy to help you out with any info, even if you don't book me as your tour guide. Ancient Egyptian history is very precious and our duty as tour guides is to show it to the world in appreciation to the great pharaohs and their unique civilization, regardless of how much we should profit from that job. Visiting Egypt in general can be a bit challenging at some points, but having a tour guide or at least an honest advice from a local is a big advantage and can avoid you some clouds you may not want to come across . Once again I'm happy to help any tourist that visits Luxor, keeping in mind that it's the reputation of our country and a positive feedback for future travelers. Wish you all safe and enjoyable travels! Bachelor's of Egyptology and history. Tour Guide Licenses from both the Ministry of Tourism and the Tour Guides Syndicate. 20+ Years of Experience guiding None.

Since the ancient Egyptian times, Luxor was divided into 2 main cities; the city of the living (East Bank of the River Nile) and the city of the dead (West Bank of the Nile). On this tour we'll be focusing on the main temples of the East Bank, as well as the Sphinx Avenue between them. On the one hand, the Karnak Temple(s) consist of the largest monumental complex on earth, with giant columns, gates, statues, obelisks and a sacred lake, which will make you consider whether the Giza Pyramids should be among the 7 wonders of the ancient world, or if these temples deserve it more. On the other hand, Luxor temple was built by the wealthy pharaoh Amonhotep III and then Ramesses the Great, whose colossal statues are scattered in and around the temple. Connecting both temples is the recently excavated Sphinx Avenue, an ancient 2 mile long festival route that was used by priests carrying sacred barques on their shoulders. It has over 2000 sphinxes! The following itinerary could be customized upon request:
-We'll begin with a pick-up from your location within Luxor (anywhere within 20 miles from the city). -We'll then drive to Karnak Temples as you learn about the history of this magnificent place, witnessing the huge amount of monuments around there. -Starting with the great pylon, we'll pass by the temple of Rameses III and the great hypostyl hall of 134 columns, plus the statues of Rameses II. -Later, we'll see and discuss the granite obelisks that exceed 300 tons each and talk about how the ancient Egyptians extracted and transported such a heavy stone from Aswan to Luxor. -Then we'll go inside the Holy of Hollies. -After that, we'll reach the sacred lake with the famous scarab sculpture. -Next, we'll go on a short ride to Luxor Temple, passing by the Sphinx Avenue, where we'll stop to walk along part of it and take pictures of some sphinxes. -At last, we'll arrive to Luxor temple, packed with statues of Rameses II who added a big addition to it although being originally built by Amonhotep III.
