Overview of your Alexandria tour
This historical tour of the Old downtown of Alexandria, named as such due to being founded by Alexander the Great in 332 B. C, will let you have a chance to encounter the less visited, not as common must see spots, that other regular itineraries won't give you the chance to: a panoramic view of the old eastern city harbor, Saint Mark Cathedral's hidden galleries that not many know about, the biggest and oldest mosque in the city plus an optional local food experience. My city has a long history covering different timelines. You will be able to see local areas to see how the locals live and feel more "street smart" about how they feel and how they behave, plus the most important historical spots. Other things to note: This tour is mainly provided for guests who are staying in Alexandria during the time of their visit. The tour starts from your place of residence in Alexandria & ends up at the same place or a different one within the city, as you prefer. Feel free to contact me for customized arrangements.

Rasha was punctual in her arrival and her driver was very capable of navigating the city throughout the day. After giving us a history overview and explanation of each site we were visiting, Rasha was very considerate in allowing us time to investigate the sites on our own. She was careful to ask us for our preferences at every stop and even bought us water because we did not have Egyptian currency with us. Rasha was very knowledgeable about history and helpful. Also easily reached by whatsapp. Driver was also great navigating the busy streets of Alexandria. Alexandria is fascinating but the area outside the port is very hectic, so unless you are familiar with Egypt I highly recommend hiring a guide to make best use of your time.
Your Alexandria tour itinerary
1- Our first visit will be the catacombs of Kom-ElShuqafa. An underground tomb dating back to the 2rd century A. D ( a must-see). 2- The Pompey's pillar or better known as the Serapeum temple, dating back to the 2nd century B. C. which was primarily dedicated to the ancient main god of Alexandria. 3- The Roman amphitheater, dating back to 3rd century A. D. , a complete Roman Community. 4- A quick visit to the biggest Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in the city. (Saint Marks). 5- The Library of Alexandria. A modern library which was built close to the old one. Enjoy a visit to the place, have a look at the splendid design of the building, which is admired by many. Enjoy a visit to the library's free modern galleries too. 6- A visit to the Qeitbay Fort. An old fort from the 15th century A. D. that was built close to the ancient city's lighthouse location. 7- The Oldest & biggest mosque. After this, we'd go back to our starting point to finish the tour, unless you'd want to be left here or in a different place
