One day is simply not enough to explore the incredible treasures of Egypt. With its rich history, majestic monuments, and vibrant culture, every corner tells a story that deserves time to be discovered. That’s why cruise ships usually dock in Alexandria for two days, giving travelers the chance to experience the best of both worlds — the charm of Alexandria with its Greco-Roman heritage and the timeless wonders of Cairo, including the Great Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum. This extended stay allows visitors to truly feel the spirit of ancient Egypt while enjoying the beauty and hospitality of its main cities
After meeting your guide at the Alexandria Port gate, your adventure begins with a visit to the mysterious Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, one of the most unique archaeological sites in Egypt. Continue to the Serapeum Temple, dedicated to the ancient god Serapis, before heading to the stunning Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the modern revival of the ancient world’s greatest library. Your final stop in Alexandria will be the Greco-Roman Museum, showcasing a rich blend of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman heritage. Afterward, travel to Cairo (about 180 km) and spend the night at your hotel. The next day, explore the awe-inspiring Giza Pyramids, including the Great Pyramid of Khufu — the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World — and admire the legendary Sphinx. End your journey with a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest museum on Earth, displaying over 500,000 original artifacts. In the evening, return safely to Alexandria Port for embarkation.
