Hello, my name is Moustafa, I am an English speaking tour guide, professional Egyptologist, graduated from faculty of archaeology, Egyptology section, Cairo university, ( not easy to join this faculty, since Egypt recently interested to raise a new generation of archaeologists to excavate, dig, and write about ancient Egypt. Honestly, Am looking for those, who want to learn about Ancient Egypt, how they lived, acted, their society..., together we mix both history we know with the new research and the new excavations. I specialize in customizing tours all over Egypt and the new excavations, since I am already working on that. Safety and comfort come first, I never drive and guide at the same time, I hire A/C vans with licensed drivers from the Ministry of Tourism. I will provide the new research, the new and different theories according to the SCAN projects, diggings and the new excavations. I finished my Masters in Egyptology, doing my PHD now, reading & writing ancient Egyptian languages (Hyroglyph+ Demotic + Heratic +Coptic). Furthermore, in the summertime, I work at various archaeological digs and I teach students in my faculty, the Egyptology, the Hieroglyphs, and how to dig. I Finished my Masters Degree, and about to finish my PHD soon. Member of the Supreme council of digging in Sakkara & Dahshour. Licensed tour guide (English/Italian)from the Egyptian ministry of tourism & member in the Egyptian general tourist guides syndicate (EGTGS). Join me in exploring the city of Alexandria. Pick you up from outside the harbor - We start our tour to visit the catacombs which are Greacoroman tombs from the 1st century A.D and explain the difference in life between the ancient Egyptian period and the Greaco roman period. - Then we visit the Roman theater, the only one in Egypt, and we talk there about the history of the place and the new excavations. - Next stop is the new library of Alexandria from outside, and we explain how the old one was. We then experience the outer view of the fortress of Quitbay which is in the same place of the Old lighthouse. At the end, we'll drive on the corniche back to the hotel.
Mustafa was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the city of Alexandria and the antiquities that are on display today at the Greco-Roman Museum. He helped make the outdoor sites come alive and indicated where museum pieces were found. And he was very adaptive to our needs and interest. His tour was a high point of our stay.
Moustafa was an incredibly knowledgeable and personable tour guide in Alexandria. He was insightful and congenial and tailor-made our tour experience. We would highly recommend him as a guide.
Moustafa's exuberant personality instantly brings history to life. To be honest, his depth of knowledge exceeds that of regular visitors; yet, as a fantastic teacher, he presents the material in the form of anecdotes, which makes everything much simpler to grasp. He is not a programmed guide but a working archaeologist, so the pricing you are paying comes at a premium, which I think is well worth it if you can afford.
This is Day 2 of our cruise ship’s stop in Alexandria. Yesterday we toured the pyramids in Giza with Moustafa O. (which was fantastic) and we spent another day today with him in the port city. We saw the Royal Gardens and Palace as well as the amazing Library of Egypt, the Greco-Roman ampitheatre and more. Moustafa’s knowledge of the area and obvious love for what he does is top notch. It was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to have him as our guide and learn so much from him. What an enjoyable and rewarding experience !
We had a very agreeable tour with Moustafa . As we were interested mainly in the Greek Roman period , he adapted the tour completely to our wishes . He knows his history very well , also driver was very professional. Thank you again moustafa for great experience you gave us
Moustafa is an excellent guide; his English is very good, and he is very knowledgeable. He revealed little details in the structures he introduced me to that made them much more interesting. I learned about things I never would have seen had I been on my own. I would recommend Moustafa to anyone wanting to see and learn about the history of Alexandria.
