Hi, I’m Wilson Javier—a proud Cuenca native and a passionate, fully licensed tour guide in Ecuador. Born and raised in one of the country’s most beautiful cities, I’ve always had a deep love for travel and connecting with people from around the world. After studying Tourism and Hospitality Management, I embarked on a transformative year in Belgium, exploring Europe and gaining a profound appreciation for different cultures. That journey solidified my passion for sharing Ecuador’s unparalleled beauty and diversity with others. Since returning home, I’ve dedicated myself to guiding and earning credentials as a National Tour Guide and Tour Operator. I’ve explored almost every corner of Ecuador, and my experience spans all five continents through the amazing travelers I’ve had the privilege to meet. Whether it’s hiking majestic mountains, uncovering hidden gems in local markets, or delving into the history of Ecuador’s remarkable landmarks, being a guide feels like my true calling. I’m committed to making your visit unforgettable by showcasing the stunning landscapes, rich culture, and vibrant contrasts of my country. I can also arrange transportation for any group size and provide personalized advice on activities, accommodations, and more. If you have specific requests, I’m happy to customize your tour to meet your needs. Step into history at Ingapirca, the most important Inca archaeological site in Ecuador. Wander through the ancient ruins and admire the extraordinary elliptical Temple of the Sun, crafted with remarkable precision. On Sundays, the visit extends to the colorful Cañar Market, offering a glimpse into Indigenous traditions and daily life. Highlights - Explore Ecuador’s largest and best-preserved Inca site, home to the empire’s only elliptical temple - Travel through scenic Andean landscapes with fertile valleys and traditional ranch land - Visit the lively Cañar Market and connect with local Indigenous culture (on Sundays) - Witness the craftsmanship of Panama Hat weavers and learn about this iconic tradition
After hotel pick-up, our day begins with a visit to the Rocío Virgin Church, an elegant 19th-century landmark with a unique gothic style. From there, we’ll stop at the home of an Indigenous family to observe the traditional weaving of Panama hats, one of Southern Ecuador’s most iconic crafts. The journey continues with a scenic drive through the highlands, where sweeping Andean landscapes unfold along the way. Upon reaching Ingapirca, you’ll explore Ecuador’s most important Inca site, including the striking elliptical Temple of the Sun, along with terraces, courtyards, and other ruins that highlight the blend of Inca and Cañari cultures. To further connect with the region’s history, we’ll take a short hike to see the “Inca’s Face,” a natural stone formation resembling a human profile. Before returning to Cuenca, enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant, completing a day filled with culture, history, and stunning scenery.
