We were a group of 3 bird enthusiasts. Carlos was a wonderful bird guide! I could tell from the tour description that he knew all the good bird spots in the local area. We started in an urban park and saw 10 species right away. We then moved on to a quiet dirt road on the hill overlooking the Yungilla valley, where we saw 20 additional species: tanagers, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, etc. We finished the day at a natural water reclamation area. Here we saw even more tanagers, flycatchers, hummingbirds, and the prize of the day--a, Peruvian Pygmy Owl. I cannot say enough about the variety of birds we saw (47) species or the knowledge Carlos shared with us. He provided us with an eBirds list at the end of the tour. If you enjoy an easy-going outdoor experience and are interested in the extraordinary biodiversity of birds in Ecuador, I highly recommend this tour by Carlos. 10 stars out of 5.
