Overview of your Cuenca tour
The Cajas National Park is located only 40 km distance from the city of Cuenca. During the visit to Cajas we star by visiting the "lower part" which is at an altitude of 3. 200 meters above sea level (10. 400 ft), there we do an easy hike of about one hour and a half, here we have the opportunity to see a well preserve Montana Cloud Forest and one of the 150 lakes. Then we drive for about 25 minutes to the "upper part" where depending on the weather and shape of visitors we can do another hour and a half hike. Then we enjoy a nice lunch at a typical restaurant of the area, after lunch we return to Cuenca.
Your Cuenca tour itinerary
- 9 am pick up from the hotel in Cuenca then drive to the lower entrance of Cajas National Park for the first hike, this is a one an a half hour hike. Then we'll drive to the upper part of Cajas PN for the second hike that last about two hours in a completely different ecosystem, then we'll go for a nice typical lunch in one o the restaurants of the area then we'll go back to Cuenca. Arrival time 3 to 4 pm.
