Sc. degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management. I also studied in the field of Developing Tourism in Small State Islands. My Dissertation is on Interpretation of Cultural heritage- A visitors authentic experience. I have 31 years of teaching experience in the fields of hospitality and tourism in private and public tertiary education. My research activities focus on Cultural Heritage Tourism, Interpretation of Heritage Sites, and Visitors' Authentic experience. I am a world traveling Cypriot passionate about nature and cultural heritage. I am a co-author of the books "Culinary Cultures of Europe - Identity, Diversity and Dialogue" Council of Europe 2005, European Cookery- "Tradition and Innovation" (2004) and an author in many articles related to tourism. I worked as an international group leader for 27 years and I am a member of the organizing committee of ICOT (International Conference on Tourism) since 2008 around the world. Limassol, successor of two city-kingdoms Kourion and Amathus where the old and the new co-exist in harmony. We begin our tour from the old port and the magnificent marina. We visit the 13th century medieval fortress related with Richard the Lionheart and Berengaria's wedding, which is now a museum on the Medieval history of Cyprus with Byzantine and Frankish monuments. Next we continue through the surrounding area with stone-built warehouses and restaurants and we visit the Great Mosque or Kepir Mosque and the Cathedral of Agia Napa. Next we walk through the Agiou Andreou pedestrian street in order to end up to the historical center and finally the sea-front pedestrian promenade. A panoramic view of the coast line of the city will be offered too. We will finish back to our starting point or another agreed-upon location. * Participants are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes, light clothes during the summer months.
Savas was an excellent guide. We started out on a walking tour, but when we became too hot and tired he switched to an amazing trip up in to the mountains. He brought us to a lovely monastery which had a beautiful Orthodox Church. He explained the artwork in the church in great detail. He spoke English very well and answered our questions. Highly recommend.

We had a very enjoyable and educational tour by Dr. Savvas S. We walked around Limassol visiting Limassol Castle, two Greek Orthodox churches and strolling through the Old Town and the waterfront. We learned an enormous amount Cypriot history and culture as well as the Greek Orthodox church. Finally, we were taken on a panoramic tour of the city. Very highly recommended!
Savvas felt like our friend in Cyprus showing us around his cherished home country. We had a great day seeing and hearing about the incredible history of Limassol & Cyprus.
