Greetings! My name is Carolyn I am offering regularly scheduled tours with a narrative and perspective not customarily included in traditional tours. My mission is to take you on an eye-opening journey, an experience, that enlightens and entertains. I share a Memphis you can feel! Together we will explore the influences and contributions made by African Americans in the development of this great city. You will be engaged not just by the sites we cover but the lesser known stories woven in between those historical sites. For over 25 years I have researched, developed tour routes, written scripts in Washington DC, Savannah, GA, Philadelphia, PA and Memphis, TN. I love the Hospitality Industry! It has given me the opportunity to meet some amazing people from around the world. Giving a tour to Oprah Winfrey and some members of her audience was one of many highlights. I look forward to sharing the richness of Memphis' history with you, my VIP guest! And if you want I am happy to customize the tour for you. Please inquire for a quote. I am certified by the following entities: City of Memphis - Small Business Enterprise (SBE) and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Shelby County - Locally Owned Small Business (LOSB) and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Shelby County School Vendor Listed in "100 Things to Do in Memphis Before you Die". My vehicle can hold up to 10 guests. There is limited room for luggage. Vehicle can accommodate a collapsable wheel chair but it does not have a motorized lift mechanism.

Have been traveling a lot of places, with different guides, but this one was by far the best ever. Very knowledgeable, flexible, with the right amount of humor. This guide really likes her job and loves her city. Highly recommended.

This was an excellent tour. We had asked to see sites that are significant for the African American experience, and our guide carried this out perfectly for us, sharing her deep knowledge and research about all the places we visited. It was a very insightful and interesting tour!

Carolyn was just awesome! I have been to Memphis many times, but she was able to bring a huge amount of behind-the-scenes history of the city to life in regard to civil rights, music, and the civil war. And even more important she is just a fabulous person! If you are heading to Memphis do yourself a HUGE favor and book a tour with Carolyn!!!!!
