Born in Kirkwall, my connection to Orkney is physical. Long before UNESCO status, I was visiting Maeshowe as a schoolboy and later maintained the technical infrastructure across the islands. I don’t operate with a "guide persona." I prefer a real exchange over a one-way broadcast. My daily discipline involves constant archival study and field exploration; I treat the landscape as a technical project rather than a standard sightseeing loop. There is a Danish saying I adhere to: Competence is expected, not advertised. In Orkney, the story is never fully completed, I am simply here to help you navigate it.
