I first came to Orkney for a holiday in November 2012 and fell in Love with the place, so much so that we moved here August 2013. I have always been an outdoors person enjoying walking canoeing and trips on our narrow-boat. My working life has always involved people, firstly as a nurse for people with learning difficulties, followed by a Youth worker. Afterward, I became a self-employed social photographer, doing weddings, schools, and portraits. Moving to Orkney has reignited my love for rope work and knot tying and I spend quite a lot of time collecting washed-up fishing rope which I then turn into door mats. I'm generally an enthusiastic person, still keen to learn, and eager to show others the things on offer here, my delight is when I tell someone something that they didn't know they wanted to know! I like to think I take a relaxed and informal approach to guiding, with the flexibility to change and adapt tours to get the most out of your Orkney experience. I am a Green Badge Tourist Guide for Orkney, issued by The Scottish Tour Guides Assoc. Licienced Taxi Driver Orkney issued by Orkney Island Council None

Join me to explore what many would consider the 'must see' of Orkney while travelling yourself through 5, 000 years of history! This tour will give you a taste of some of the best Orkney has to offer. The Italian Chapel, built by Italian POW's, the Churchill Barriers, and Scapa Flow, a natural harbor. Also the The Standing Stones of Stenness, Ring of Brodgar, Skara Brae, home of a Neolithic family and Skaill House, the oldest manor house in Orkney. Visit the heart of Neolithic Orkney, considered a UNESCO World Heritage site and learn what archaeologists think life was in the past! I have always been an outdoors person and I am eager to show others the stunning things that this city and its surroundings have to offer. My delight is when I tell someone something that they didn't know they wanted to know!
The average tour plan would consist of these points of interest, originally meeting at any point of designation (cruise ship landing point, local town, hotel etc. ) followed by visiting points of interest as mentioned below: - Italian Chapel built by Italian Prisoners of War during WW2 - Churchill Barriers built during WW2 by the Italian PoW's - Scapa Flow large natural harbor and home to the British navy during WW1 and WW2 - Neolithic Stone Circles, The Standing Stones of Stenness possibly the oldest stone circle in the UK and the Ring of Brodgar the largest stone circle in Orkney - Skara Brae 5, 000-year-old stone village (**Food and drink available here**) - Skaill House The largest manor house in Orkney All tourists may be dropped off to any point of destination they require whether it be the local town or the cruise liner boarding area. Customization of this tour possible upon request.
