My name is Ebenezer Quansah, a dedicated professional who has made a home in the beautiful Orkney Islands, where he has lived for nearly 18 years. Originally from England, I moved to Orkney to start a new chapter in my life and has since built a career as a taxi driver, serving the local community for almost two decades. Before settling in Orkney, I studied computer science in London and at Staffordshire University, where I developed a deep understanding of technology. Despite my career in the taxi industry, my academic background has always stayed with me, fuelling my curiosity and problem-solving skills. Alongside my work, I have always nurtured a love for history—a passion that led him to pursue further education in the field. In 2023, I graduated from the Scottish Tourist Guide Association's tour guiding course, earning a green badge to guide tourists through the rich history of the Orkney Islands. Over the past year, I have enjoyed sharing my knowledge of the islands with visitors, bringing local history to life in a way that is both engaging and informative. As a father of four, I value family deeply and have navigated the challenges of divorce with resilience and determination. My personal journey has further shaped my appreciation for the importance of connections, whether with family, friends, or with beloved community in Orkney. In my spare time, I am an avid reader, particularly when it comes to history, and I am also a passionate football fan. My love for sports, history, and storytelling continues to inspire my work as a tour guide and enriches my day-to-day life.
