My name is Evangelia and I am a native of Karpathos island which is a unique place so different from the other islands. Here, you can still find the authentic, the untouched heart of Greece and the meaning of the Greek word "Philotimo".

For many years, I was in Athens studying Geography and getting my master on "Environment and Development" and when I finished my studies, taking into consideration the tough financial situation in Greece, I have been faced with the dilemma of moving abroad. My enormous love for Karpathos prevailed and so I have got the big decision to live permanently on my island.
I decided to start eco - tours with the aim to transfer the love and respect I feel for my place to the visitors, but also to create the experiences which will help them be integrated into the local community as equal members.

Always with respect to our Nature, History, and Culture, I invite you to visit our island and the most traditional village in Greece, Olympos which is announced as the " Capital of Culture in the South Aegean islands".

The Greek goverment announced the village of Olympos as the Capital of Culture because of it's living tradition. The women still wear their traditional costumes not as an attraction for the tourists but because they want to keep their tradition way of life alive and it's possible to listen the traditional music while walking in the streets and drink a greek coffee sitting along with the locals.

The Archeologists protect the unique architecture of the village by setting many rules and that's why until now you will able to see old buildingsin a good shape, with the same colour and materials for many centuries now. Moreover, the architecture is not the typical Greek, blue and white, in the village there are many houses with a big variety of colours!

Karpathos island is a source of Mediterranean cuisine. Together we are going to cook its delicious traditional dishes using virgin olive oil, pure honey and biological products from the gardens of Avlona.

You will have the chance to collect the fresh vegetables on your own and I explain you how the locals cultivate them in a special way, without watering even in the summer!

The cooking lesson is not only a funny activity but also very informative because in the end you will learn also the agriculture way in the protected area and how the locals use wisely the natural resources of their place.
