Hoa Lu - Trang An Grottoes Tour Full Day

5/5 and Steve was not my first choice for guide. He was recommend to me and I am certainly happy. I am not your typical solo traveler. I am not interested in museums or shopping for souvenirs. I like to be active and do things, walking 20k steps and 75 flights of stairs is my kind of day. I like to eat local foods and experience the cities I am in. Steve hit them all with a perfectly curated 2.5 day tour of Hanoi and Nah Banh area for me. His english is conversational level and for a solo traveler he is the only person I have to talk to, that becomes very important. We had a lot of fun together and I would recommend him to anyone traveling to the Vietnam. Cheers!! Side note, please remember that these guides do this for a living. Make sure you are detailed in what you would like to do and what you want included if you are booking custom. The price you are quoted is solely based on your information to the guide. If you decide you want more than you asked for, be prepared to pay extra for the extra services. Do not ask these guides for freebies.

We booked this tour with Steve because we enjoyed our experience with him so much the day before! He was so helpful making last-minute plans for transportation & I am thrilled that we did not miss this - the mountains, rice paddies, river, and lotus are spectacular. The climb was beautiful, scenery truly amazing. We had so much fun on the small river boats & in cave. He took us to an outstanding and delicious restaurant. Steve has my highest recommendation for his thoughtfulness, friendliness, history & local knowledge, excellent language skills & skillful planning. He’s prompt, trustworthy, and a great communicator.

We had a great two days with Steve - HIGHLY recommend going to Ninh Binh and getting away from Halong bay tourism!!! We came in on a cruise and had a good view of Halong bay along the way, so really appreciated being able to go to a less-touristy area and see "Halong bay on land" - even though it was a 3 hour drive. Steve was very accommodating and flexible and we would love to tour with him again!!

Steve was wonderful and expertly planned our day based on what we hadn't yet seen in surrounding areas of Hanoi. He explained in detail what we saw which included a sampan ride through caves, a temple, a great lunch place and more. We felt very safe and were treated with the utmost respect. We highly recommend him.

Steve was a very pleasant and informative guide with a good sense of humour and a good command of english. The car, driver and tour were all of high quality and were customised to our needs once on the road. High recommendation.

Steve was knowledgeable, accommodative and friendly and took note of my earlier request to minimise too much walking for my elderly dad. Very kind and helpful and ensured that my dad was comfortable throughout the journey. This was a long journey and Steven helped to pace it out so that there were mini-breaks to break out the long journeys from place to place. We had a fantastic lunch again at a local restaurant and even to one of the places Tuyet Tinh Coc to see the beautiful scenery. Tks Steve!
