Hello! I've been a certified tour guide since 1996 and I was born and have always lived in the region that I would be proud to show you! . . . the enchanting BORROMEAN ISLANDS on Lago Maggiore (Isola Bella, Isola Madre, Isola Pescatori), with their luxuriant gardens, somptous palaces and picturesque fishermen's villages; . . . the BOTANICAL GARDEN OF VILLA TARANTO, considered by botanists as one of the most beautiful gardens in the world; . . . the charming little village of ORTA and the inspiring SAN GIULIO ISLAND on Lago d'Orta; . . . the SACRO MONTE of Orta, inscripted in the UNESCO World Heritage list. . . These are the highlights of the region, but what about discovering the places off the beaten tracks? If you are spending more than one day in my area, it would be nice to experience something more: an exclusive PRIVATE BOAT TRIP to enjoy the banks of Lake Maggiore dotted by its many villas and gardens; GOURMET TOURS (vineyards and wineries, cheese refiners, gelato makers. . . ); DESIGN and FASHION excellences; COOKING CLASSES. . . I'm particularly specialized in HISTORICAL GARDENS and Lake Maggiore offers not only some of the best gardens of northern Italy but also some PRIVATE GARDENS, for which I can agree a special opening for you. If you are interested in something different from the tours I've published, or if you wish these tours to be arranged in a different way, please ask me and I'm sure we'll find the best way to organize your visits! Moreover, if you see from the calendar that I am not available on some date, please contact me anyway and I'll try to find a solution! - Qualified Tour Guide for Lake Maggiore, Lake Orta and Novara since 1996 - Qualified Tour Leader since 2004 - Third-party insurance - Updated training courses I am not a professional driver. I can arrange for a separate car and driver or accompany you in your vehicle.

Created by the Scotsman Neil McEacharn in the 1930's, the botanical patrimony of the gardens of Villa Taranto contains nearly 1, 000 non autochthonous plants and almost 20, 000 genera and varieties of particular botanical importance. Since 1952 the gardens have been open to the public, from April to October. Garden lovers come to Villa Taranto from Australia, North and South America and Europe, drawn by its interesting botanical collections, perfect organization and exquisite hospitality. Visiting Villa Taranto with me is discovering the rarities of the garden. I have learnt a lot of this place, after many years of guiding in the gardens of Lake Maggiore and the many talks with the gardeners who make the visit possible thanks to their constant work and patience. This tour is possible only during the opening period of Villa Taranto (March 15th - November 1st, 2021 and 2022)
• We'll visit the gardens, walking on very comfortable paths. • We'll see thousands of plants and trees, most from tropical countries and some of them very rare. • In April visitors can enjoy the tulips exposition. From July to October, the exhibit of dahlias. • The walk will last about 2 hours. We can make a shorter visit and see the highlights of the gardens if you don't feel like walking up to the top of the hill. The difference in height is of about 100 mts (300 ft), but the walk up is very smooth and comfortable. • We can stop and sit on some benches, if you want. • There's a café (not open full-time in low season) in the centre of the garden. There is one always open at the entrance/exit of the garden. • The visit is not suggested only if the weather is really bad (heavy rain, strong wind, etc). If this is the case, we'll find a solution together! Notes: - Visitors are not allowed to enter the Villa. - I can create a customized tour in case you have special requests or if you are more than 10.
