The best way to enjoy Lago Maggiore is hiring a boat with driver and a qualified guide. Enjoy an amazing view of the banks and luxuriant hills of the lake; admire the hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso, the Borromean Islands, the town of Verbania Pallanza and Intra, the many villas with gardens built between the late XIX and the early XX century. I've experienced this tour several times and I've noticed that travellers love it so much! A boat trip is the best way to enjoy the surrounding environment, which you don't see so well when driving. I love visiting the little towns of Cannero and Cannobio, because they are out of the most common tourist tracks, especially during weekdays. Join me and you will see!
Your Stresa tour itinerary
• Departure is from Stresa, Baveno or Verbania Pallanza. • The boat will first take us to the opposite side of the lake and we'll enjoy the view of the hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso, one of the most amazing places on Lake Maggiore. • Then we will head north and reach the town of Cannobio in about 1 hour. • During the trip, we'll pass by the Borromean islands, the town of Verbania and the many villages and independent villas with gardens built on the lake shores and hills. • Cannobio is worth the visit, for its walk along the lake, for the shrine of the Pietà, for the many shops and cafés. We'll spend a couple of hours there. • The boat will then head south and stop in Cannero, a tiny village where you can have lunch. • After a one hour stop, we'll head back to our place of departure (1 hr trip).
