Overview of your Stresa tour
The Borromeo's Islands are the highlight of a stay at Lago Maggiore. The marvellous baroque palace and gardens built on ten artificial terraces on Isola Bella are the reason for which I started guiding: I was so curious to know more about the ones who had the dream of making a small rocky island into an imaginary vessel! Isola Pescatori is the most lively, with its many little shops and cafés, but if we get there in the late afternoon, we can still experience the life of an ancient village, with the coloured fishermen's houses protecting their baroque little church. Then, a private and relaxing boat tour will crown the day. For me, the number one tour you should experience when coming to Lake Maggiore! *** This tour can be customized at your pleasure! Just an amazing day. From conversations in advance to our parting after the tour, Daniela was superbly professional, knowledgeable, and above all -- kind, friendly, delightful to talk to, and responsive to our needs. I was traveling with my 85-year old father, who has mobility issues. We communicated in advance and tailored the tour to his needs; shortening time on the islands, but having a longer boat ride. The tour itself was marvelous, and we really appreciated Daniela's planning so that we avoided the worst of the crowds on both Isola Bella and Isola Pescatori. She knew the ins and outs of the streets, took time to orient us to the area first, and provide history, which really helped us appreciate what we were seeing. My dad loved every minute of this day, but especially loved Daniela, who really made special effort to ensure he was safe and having a great time. Highly recommended!

Your Stresa tour itinerary
• Boat ride from Stresa to Isola Bella. We'll spend about 2 hrs on this island, visiting the wealthy baroque palace and its terraced gardens. • Then we'll be transferred to Isola Pescatori to visit the church and stroll around the lanes of this charming fishermen's village. Several restaurants offer typical food of this region. The order of visits may vary according to the weather. • After visiting the islands, an exclusive boat cruise will take us along the shore of the lake to admire the beautiful villas and gardens, most of them built during the XIX century. If the weather and lake conditions allow, we'll go to the eastern side of the lake to admire the beautiful hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso from the boat. • 45-60 minutes tour we'll head back to the departure place.
