My name is Hung, I hold a BA in History and Culture and have been working in tourism in central Vietnam for over a decade, arranging private tours and experiences for guests. I am also a certified guide with 10 years of professional experience. In my free time, I enjoy reading extensively about culture, history, economics, cuisine, politics and religion from different countries, which allows me to offer deeper context and meaningful stories during my tours. I am a food lover and storyteller, born and raised in the beautiful city of Da Nang, a place I know like the back of my hand. I live right between Da Nang and Hoi An with my family. I might be a new guide on this platform, but rest assured that my extensive experience guiding for the entirety of the past decade allows me to create memorable, authentic experiences for travellers who want to explore Vietnam. Xin Chào Viet Nam and Da Nang!

Da Nang witnessed serious wars spanning centuries. In the 14th century at the time of the Champa kingdom, from the 17th to the 18th century in the civil war between North & South DaiViet, in the 19th century as the French & Spanish armies attacked in 1858, and of course the Vietnam war in the mid 1900s. During this war, Da Nang was actually the American base. On this tour, you'll learn about our city's war history by visiting historical sites such as the the Dien Hai citadel, built in 1836 to fend off the French army. We'll also visit the first bridge built by American Army during the Vietnam war and a the American Radar, that is still functioning today. The radar was called the "Magic Eyes" during the Vietnam war, due to its ability to monitor the Indochina sky (now Laos, Vietnam & Cambodia).
-After picking you up, we'll first visit My Khue beach, where American soldiers went for holidays after patrolling South Vietnam. -We'll then drive towards the giant Lady Buddha statue, facing the Eastern Sea, which it is believed to have been mysteriously protecting the area against hurricanes for over a decade. -Next, we'll visit the Spanish cemetery where I'll shed light on the reasons why there were so many casualties for the Franco-Spanish troops against Dai Nam. -Afterwards, we'll reach the top of the Son Tra mountain, which was used as a helicopter landing pad for the US soldiers, to see the American radar, which is still there but it's now used by the Vietnamese military. -Next, we'll drive to the Vong Canh Hill to reach the Ban Co Peak where we'll see breathtaking views of the city, and the sculpture of the Fairy Man playing chess. -Afterwards, we'll drive towards the Han river to walk across the Latrtre de Tasigny bridge. -At last, we'll drive back to where I picked you up from.

Depending on the size of the group, we would use either a Mitsubishi SUV or a Ford Explorer van.
