I would love to share with you my favorite of San Antonio's delightfully quirky, overlooked secrets - I have collected them for years and they are what make our city extra special. My goal is getting you off the tourist track. Let me show you unique views, share scandalous stories, and reveal hidden-in-plain-sight discoveries that will enhance your visit and appreciation for our antique downtown. Look closely (really closely) and find historic graffiti, broken noses, urban dragons, a secret entranceway, ghost signs, 9 month hotel, where and why Lebron James pitched a fit, and many more. If you appreciate the odd and unusual, and if you want to encounter what you will not see on other tours, come along with me. One of my most favorite tours!
We will begin and end on Alamo Plaza across the street from the United States Post Office & Courthouse at 615 E. Houston Street. There are lots of discoveries to be made on the plaza and opportunities for photos. From Alamo Plaza, we will meander by La Villita and then a lovely, quiet corner of the San Antonio Riverwalk. Next, we will visit Main Plaza, the literal center of San Antonio. Much to reveal here. On our return to Alamo Plaza we will see more surprises. Our comfortable walking tour will meander both indoors and outdoors. We will travel across multiple surfaces, including stone, concrete, and some slightly uneven surfaces; however, the route is fully accessible for persons that are mobility impaired. Along the way there will be opportunities for refreshments and restroom breaks.
