Hello! As a Certified International Tour Manager I've discovered my passion for showing people the places that I love. I'm excited to use this passion to show off my home state of Rhode Island! When trying to decide "what I want to be when I grow up, " I knew that I loved teaching, and I loved working with people, but I enjoy being outside and on the move far too much to be a classroom teacher. I feel extremely fortunate to have discovered this career where I can do all of the things that I love. I've been leading various types of tours since 2009, including tours of historic sites, walking tours, and coach tours. I've lead tours across the United States, Ireland, and in the U. K. I'm enthusiastic about history and love sharing that with people in an interactive and exciting way, so if you'd like to learn about my home state-- come take a walk with me! At this time I am only providing walking tours. - Certified International Tour Manager, International Guide Academy 2012 - MA in Art History, Brooklyn College 2012 Please note- if you are looking for tours inside any of the Mansions in Newport, you'll have to contact them directly as they do not allow outside guides to give tours inside the homes.

Today Newport draws crowds to its bustling waterfront for delicious cuisine and fun atmosphere, but this city has had many identities over the years. Settled in 1639, it was a relatively quiet settlement but quickly grew to the largest in what is now Rhode Island. Thanks to its harbor, it became a busy and wealthy port town until the Revolutionary War. After the Revolution, it later became a summer destination for the wealthy socialites who eventually built the "cottages" along Bellevue Avenue. Hear some of this rich history that Newport has to offer as we move away from the crowded waterfront district. This walking tour will show you some of Newport's most historical and famous landmarks along with neighborhoods that are rarely visited by tourists.
This tour will focus on the colonial history and early American history of Newport. To illustrate those themes, some of the highlights to be seen on the tour include: - Eastons Point. - Washington Square. - Touro Synagogue. - Quaker Meeting House. - White Horse Tavern. - Mystery Tower. - Oldest community library in the US. - Newport Casino. - Trinity Church. If there are specific things you are particularly interested in seeing, please reach out to me and we can design a route that includes them. Masks are no longer required outdoors in Rhode Island, but if you prefer that I wear one I am happy to do so.
