Suzanne M. – Private Newport Tour Guide Guide #24442 Hello! I’m Suzanne, and I feel incredibly fortunate to work as a tour guide, professional photographer, and innkeeper in the very special coastal city of Newport, Rhode Island. Join me for a private 90-minute or 4-hour tour as we explore some of Newport’s most remarkable places. Along the way, you’ll discover iconic landmarks as well as hidden corners of this “City by the Sea” that only a local would know. My goal is for you to leave not only with beautiful photos, but also with lasting memories of Newport. I’ve worked with ToursByLocals for several years and have loved every minute of it. Meeting travelers from across the United States and around the world—and sharing the history and charm of Newport with them—has been a true pleasure. My background includes a Fine Arts degree from California College of the Arts in Oakland, along with extensive photography studies at the Rhode Island School of Design. For more than 25 years, I’ve worked as a Newport photographer, capturing everything from grand mansion weddings and seaside engagements to family portraits on beautiful beaches and the interiors of historic Colonial homes. In addition, I’ve spent 18 years in hospitality as an innkeeper and concierge at the five-star diamond Francis Malbone House. This experience, combined with my photography career, has given me a deep understanding of what makes Newport such a unique and memorable destination. During our private driving tour, we’ll explore many of Newport’s highlights. We might visit places such as: The International Tennis Hall of Fame The famous Cliff Walk promenade The spectacular 10-mile Ocean Drive Historic neighborhoods and scenic viewpoints perfect for photographs Newport’s charming wharf area with its renowned restaurants, cafés, and sailing excursions Along the way, I’ll point out great places to dine, enjoy coffee, or even book a sunset sail aboard a classic schooner. This tour is designed as a beautiful overview of Newport, helping you discover places you may want to return to later and explore in greater depth. As a local resident of 50 years, I’m also happy to tailor the tour to your interests or special requests. I can pick you up directly at your hotel or cruise ship, and together we’ll set off on your personalized Newport experience. Some of my tours include tickets to the Gilded Age Mansions. Travel has taken me to many places around the world, and I know firsthand how meaningful those memories can be. It would be my pleasure to help make your visit to Newport truly unforgettable. I can comfortably accommodate up to four guests in my vehicle. For larger groups, I’m happy to arrange a larger vehicle for up to six guests.
