Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center and Sightseeing Tour (Short Walk Required)

Enjoy the intimacy of just your group, up to 5 (maybe 6 - read further), on a private scenic tour of Juneau in a luxury Grand Highlander. Tour has both unguided and guided parts. First, the unguided part. All will be dropped 1/4 mile from the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center (VC). ALL MUST WALK 0.25 MILE ON FLAT SIDEWALK THERE, AND 0.25 MILE BACK TO DROPOFF. No split parties (nobody remains with guide). We will agree on time to be spent there (between 1 and 2 hours), depending on whether some want to walk to Nugget Falls. I will also give you entry fees. Next, the guided part. After pickup from the spot near the VC, we will head to the Shrine of St. Therese and DIPAC salmon hatchery. More beauty and knowledge to soak up! Time permitting, we will explore more. * Start times are 9am and 2pm (flexible). * If your group has 6, I may be able to take them, no extra charge. I have 6 passenger belts. Look at the third row in the above photos of my SUV - if 3 people can fit comfortably, I can take 6 total.

Itinerary: -Juneau Historic Downtown Drive (Capitol, Governor's Mansion) Unguided Portion (1-2 hrs): -Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center (VC) and Nugget Falls - All required to walk 1/4 mile to VC and back to dropoff site - Several trails and lookout points to see glacier - Nugget Falls: can be seen, but a 1-mile walk to it if desired Guided Portion (2.5-3.5 hrs, cont'd after pickup from Glacier VC) - DIPAC Salmon Hatchery - Shrine of St. Therese A place of breathtaking beauty and sacred nature (ocean and mountain vistas) - Overstreet Park (time permitting) Tahku Whale Statue - Douglas Island (time permitting) Beautiful views of Juneau and old mine ruins We will establish text/phone contact ahead of time to polish the itinerary, and set pickup and dropoff points.
