Hi Everyone my name is Dave H and I Came to Alaska in 1999 a few years after Highschool. Was a commercial fishing Captain for 20 years and have lots of great stories to tell. I've fished and travelled to every corner of Southeast Alaska. Juneau is the Capital of the 49th state of Alaska and there is so much to see and most of the tourists only have about a half a day to do so. We get about 1. 3 million cruise ship passengers a year and another 500, 000 people visit via Ferry, Plane, or Private Vessels. Juneau sits in the heart of the Tongass National forest which is the largest National Forest in America. With a population of only 33, 000 in Juneau and 70, 000 in Southeast Alaska overall you can see how remote the area is. Juneau is the largest capital city for landmass which means in order to see everything you really need to cover ground and thats the tour I'm going to take you on. I aspire to give you three of the best hours on either your cruise vacation or if you are just passing through Juneau in the Heart of Tongass National Forest. Roughly the size of West Virginia the Tongass is the largest national forest in the United States and home to approximately 70, 000 people living in 32 distinct and unique communities. When you are visiting the capital city of Juneau, Alaska, you are visiting the capital city with the largest landmass in America. To see the sights and amazing scenery you need to cover plenty of ground as Juneau is so large. I will be guiding you on an adventure of over 100 miles of our road system showcasing the best Juneau has to offer. I will be taking you to old mining areas, the Shrine of Saint Therese, Mendenhall Glacier views, DIPAC Salmon hatchery, the Governor's mansion, sheep creek, and more. . . Don't forget our amazing wildlife! Bears, Mountain Goats, Eagles, Seals, Otters, and yes even Whales

David was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about Juneau and covered the many interesting sites all around the city. He went to extra effort to get us to some of his favorite places that turned out to be the highlights of the trip. You won't go wrong if you schedule with David, we had a great time thanks to his efforts for us!
He showed us very beautiful, off the beaten path locations that were very special. We especially liked the St Teresa shrine. We saw more eagles than we ever saw. He took us to see Mendenhall galcier from a location not full of tourists. He was a kind pleasant person who was very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
David was a very knowledgeable guide. He was also flexible and fun. We really enjoyed our time with him.
