Overview of your Birmingham tour:

The award-winning Peaky Blinders television series, set in the period just after World War 1 and throughout the 1920's, has captivated audiences around the world. During this tour, we learn about the rise and fall of the REAL Peaky Blinders and hear stories of the life and times of hardworking 'Brummies' who were terrorized by these and other 'slogging gangs'. At the Black Country Living Museum, nicknamed the 'Official Home of Peaky Blinders' we explore some of the filming locations used in the series including Charlie Strong's Yard, where the 'Tea Party' took place to celebrate Arthur becoming a father. Here we step back in time to learn about the living and working conditions of people who grew up in the inner city areas that formed the backdrop to the story of the Peaky Blinders.

Your Birmingham tour itinerary

This morning we explore the Birmingham back streets and areas mentioned in the series, Navigation Street, Deritend and Digbeth, Small Heath, Nechells, and Aston - stopping at the site of the original Garrison Inn. From here we drive to the Black Country Living Museum where many of the iconic scenes were filmed and where we first meet Tommy Shelby arriving on horseback wearing his sharp three-piece suit, Crombie coat and 'Peaky' Cap, a look that has since become highly fashionable. We explore real back-to-back houses, experience a Victorian school lesson, cruise the canal on a narrow boat, stop at the Victorian pub (used as the The Garrison) for a pie-and-mash lunch washed down with a pint of real ale or visit the 'chippie' for traditional fish and chips takeaway. BY ORDER OF THE PEAKY BLINDERS!
