Hello and welcome to the Heart of England region. After a career in fashion manufacturing I qualified as a Blue Badge Tour Guide in 2001. Since then I have specialised in providing personalised, private tours of Birmingham and surrounding region. I love to share my enthusiasm with visitors from UK and abroad. As a 'born and bred Brummie', I have seen many changes to Birmingham over the last 25 years; from a city with a reputation for heavy industry Birmingham has become a highly regarded centre of excellence in all areas of business and culture. A wide variety of restaurants, great shopping, museums and galleries plus numerous local attractions make Birmingham a popular tourist destination with leisure and business visitors alike. Just a forty minute drive from Birmingham city centre are the famous 'Shakespeare Country' towns of Stratford upon Avon and Warwick with the Cotswold hills beyond. Whatever your reason for visiting and however much or little time you have to spare, I would be delighted to tailor a walking and/or driving tour that will help you discover the hidden. . . Heart of England. Hope to see you soon. Overview of your Birmingham tour

Our tour today takes us through the beautiful countryside of the northern Cotswolds, where we explore some of its most famous villages—Stow on the Wold, Broadway celebrated for its wide, picturesque high street and attractive village green , and Chipping Campden—alongside a selection of charming lesser known spots that are truly off the beaten track. With time for lunch and a gentle stroll, we’ll uncover stories from the region’s rich history and meet the people, places, and events that have shaped this remarkable landscape. Surrounded by stunning views at every turn, we discover why this area has long been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. By the end of the day, you’ll have experienced the charm, history, and timeless beauty that make the Cotswolds one of the most enchanting regions in England.

Diane was exceptional! We booked 3 days with Diane and she really came through with marvelous tours. She drew from her many years of experience to entertain and inform us of all types of stories and information along the way. She took us to all of the places we requested as well as many "hidden" gems that she knew about. She avoided the crowds and recommended wonderful restaurants & Pubs. Diane is charming, knowledgeable and personable and I highly recommend her for your Cotswolds vacations!

Diana was an amazing guide! She customized our tour both before and on the day, taking us through the most beautiful places in North Cotswolds. We could not have seen these place without her, and her breadth of knowledge as a local and as a Blue Badge tour guide really added to our appreciation. She is unfailingly kind and calm, adjusting as we went and even recovered a lost glove! One of our party said she completely changed his mind about the Cotswolds and couldn’t say enough about his experience with her. Highly recommend a custom tour - it’s worth it!

It was great being with Diane. She was terrific. Who doesn’t want to be driven all over the Cotswolds so you can enjoy the scenery. Diane made it seem easy. She was thoughtful, told good stories and was efficient plus. Would highly recommend her.

We had an outstanding day with Diane! Her knowledge of the Cotswolds is extensive and she brought a new level understanding of the history, culture, and traditions of the area. She worked so hard and offered an in-depth perspective. She is also an excellent driver and we felt safe and secure in her hands. We highly recommend Diane and would book another tour with her in a heartbeat!

The tour and Diane were everything we could have hope for. Diane is delightful, well informed about the history and architecture of the buildings in each town we visited. It was a pleasure to spend the day with her and to see the Cotswolds through her eyes. We would highly recommend her.

Your Birmingham tour itinerary

We begin at our agreed meeting point and head towards the village of Broadway, often described as “the prettiest village in England.” From Broadway Tower, on a clear day, we can enjoy far reaching views across five counties. Continues to Chipping Campden, followed by the peaceful village of Blockley, known to fans of the TV series Father Brown as the fictional village of Kembleford. Here we stop for lunch or afternoon tea. You may choose to wander the pretty streets, browse the independent shops and antique stores, or simply relax and soak up the atmosphere. From here, we travel through several iconic Cotswold villages and market towns, including Moreton in Marsh, Stow on the Wold, The Slaughters, and Bourton on the Water, along with a few of my favourite hidden gems—each with its own fascinating story to tell.
