I love finding out about, places, people and our heritage. Fascinating facts, hidden places and inspiring vistas excite me and I enjoy being able to share my discoveries with others. It is important to me that I research carefully and throughly plan for any tour that I give. I enjoy the chance to provide a courteous and positive for my tour guests. Initially from Yorkshire, I have been an adopted Brummie for over thirty years. It's a city which is exciting and always changing with its roots firmly in the past but rushing forward into the future. Trained as an archaeologist I spend many years digging and analysing finds from excavations in Cheshire, Lincolnshire and the Midlands developing knowledge about the Roman and Medeival period and specialising in pottery of most periods, but particularly the Middle Ages. When leading adult education groups the highlight was when we found a Roman road. A second career in teaching primary children was suffused with the natural enthusiasm young children bring to their learning. My career took me in the direction of supporting special educational needs pupils and families. Whether with friends or family I realised how much I enjoyed finding places and planning itineraries on days out and holidays. When the opportunity came to train as a Blue Badge Tourist Guide for the Heart of England my decision was simple. Since qualifying I have really enjoyed researching, planning and delivering tours, meeting a wide range of new people and helping to explain the richness of my region. Blue badge guide , Heart of England MITG Member of the Insitute of Tourist Guides Accreditation for guiding Windsor Castle, Windsor and Eton I am not a driver. I can accompany your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.
