Ephesus; is an ancient city. It was the most important commercial center of the western Anatolia during the ancient time. In this ancient site; you can see the largest theatre of Anatolia and the third largest library and second largest agora in the world. St. Paul preached in the Great Theater of Ephesus. House of Virgin Mary; According to Christian traditional beliefs this is the House that MotherMary lived her days after the Resurrection of Christ. She was brought to Ephesus by Apostle John. The Temple of Artemis; which was the one of the seven wonders of ancient time.
*You will be met by me at the exit gate of the port; *Drive to House of Virgin Mary which is one of the pilgrimage for Christians where she had her recently time and died. Pope Paul VI visited the shrine in 1967, Pope John Paul II also visited the shrine in 1979. Pope Benedict XVI visited this shrine in 2006. *After that, we will visit Ephesus which is one of the best well-kept Greco-Roman ancient city in the world, famous with Odeon, Temples, Library; theatre where is one of the biggest with 24. 000 people capacity and St. Paul preached; Roman Baths ; Fountains; Temples; Agora; Love House; Public Toilets;etc. *After Ephesus, we visit Temple of Artemis which is one of the seven wonders of Ancient time. *If you want We can have a traditional lunch in the area. *Also you have some more time for shopping in local places. (if you desire) *At the end dropping you back to the port.
