Trujillo & Moche Valley Full-day Tour" Exploring the Moche Valley"

Trujillo is the capital of La Libertad Region, located on Peru's northern coast. The city center is a colonial area and has been properly preserved; which leads us to a centennial past through the streets designed in the 16th century, the rich architecture with a predominance of grand old houses, places, and churches. The city center contains many examples of colonial and religious architecture, often incorporating distinctive wrought ironwork. It includes residential areas, a central business district, and industrial supply distribution to the various districts. It's also the cradle of great civilizations like the Moche culture with the SUN AND MOON TEMPLE from about AD 100 to 800 and the great CHAN CHAN a large adobe city in the Valley of Moche (around which present-day Trujillo city developed). The culture arose about 900 and flourished into the 14th century. , Capital city of the Chimu civilization. Also, a world heritage site recognized by UNESCO in 1986.

A full-day excursion gives the chance to visit the highlights of the Moche Valley where Trujillo City is Located. This visit includes the archaeological site Sun and the Moon temple and the site museum. The historical center of Trujillo also known as the colonial part, includes colonial mansions and Churches. Another part of this tour is the magnificent archaeological site of Chanchan visiting first the site museum ( only Monday is close to the public) and after the site itself. Finally, it also includes a visit to Huanchaco a fisherman's village to see the traditional Totora reed boat an ancient tradition still alive and a good place to enjoy and see food (this is optional).
