Travel with local born and bred guide Scotty to the beautiful braided Hurunui River. The jet boat (Powerboat) is a New Zealand invention designed to travel up shallow rivers that were usually inaccessible. This design has revolutionised boating around the world & is a hobby with most kiwis Energy Jet is a family owned and operated & is the only business offering trips up the Hurunui River. Tim & his family welcome you with the warmest kiwi hospitality. After the Jetboat travel back to Waipara to enjoy a Lunch or wine or three at one of our many fabulous restaurants in the area.
Your Christchurch tour itinerary
Travel From Lyttelton or Christchurch to the Hurunui River (70 mins) Drive through small townships and admire the landscapes. Pass through the famous Waipara wine region which is home to Pinor Noir, Reilsing and Sav wines. This is where we will have Lunch later. Travel via jet boat on the Hurunui river and take in the scenery that can only be viewed from the river. Jetboat travels up stream through the gorge for approx. 45mins round journey Enjoy local commentary and history about the area. After your river experience return to Waipara for a wine tasting / lunch or opt to do a sight seeing tour in Christchurch. Then return to the ship or hotel
