Our farm has been in the family since 1884. "Hurunui Hills" is a Merino sheep and Angus Cattle Station (Farm) in North Canterbury. Come and join us as we learn about farm life in the Hurunui. Meet the animals and learn about day to day life on the farm. See and touch our award winning wool and enjoy our beautiful hill top farm views! A great tour to reconnect with nature, learn more about merino wool & where some of your food comes from. All while spending some time with cute animals (& hard working sheepdogs).
Your Christchurch tour itinerary
Pick up at Hotel or Lyttelton Port travel towards the farm via small towns and farmland. Drive through the famous Waipara Wine region and limestone rock formations of the Weka Pass. Keep a look out for the historic train. On the farm: 90mins - See sheep and cattle in paddocks - Travel to the top of the farm for panoramic hill top views - Visit our woolshed, learn more about the wool shearing process and touch award winning fleeces - Meet the working dogs and pet sheep. You can feed them and grab a selfie! - Walk around our flower and vegetable gardens Optional wine tasting in Waipara or lunch nearby (Waipara or Amberley) Travel back to the city or port.
