Hello, I am Nidas! Your perfect local guide for Delft, Rotterdam and The Hague. I am a dedicated, cheerful, and enthusiastic 26-year-old student who, alongside studying, has been guiding in Rotterdam, Delft, and the surrounding areas for a number of years. Currently, I am studying econometrics at Erasmus University Rotterdam, but before this, I completed my bachelor's degree in Applied Physics at TU Delft. My roots are in North Holland and Lithuania. My fascination with cities and history began when I was a little kid. At that time, I didn't have a computer, and I would spend days flipping through an atlas my dad gave me. Now that I'm a bit older, that same love has transferred to Google Maps. In addition to my minor in Heritage & Design at the architecture faculty, I lived in Delft for 15 years and can tell you everything about this beautiful town. During this minor, I learned how Dutch cities and architecture has evolved from the year 1000 to 1930. I've read a lot about the time after 1930, which is necessary considering my current place of residence: the modern marvel called Rotterdam. These days, I also guide in Rotterdam, and although I've only lived here for three years, this city is becoming more and more my own. To accelerate that process, I started a tour last year visiting all 92 neighborhoods of Rotterdam, in alphabetical order! I'm currently half of the way through, adding a neighborhood every week, and posting pictures and info on social media. So, I'm the perfect person to take you around this city. From the renowned higlights to the local nooks and crannies! See you somewhere in the most diverse and beautiful province of the Netherlands: South Holland! My tours are flexible and it is always possible to make some changes in the itinerary. --CREDENTIALS-- - 3 years of guiding experience in mainly Rotterdam, Delft and The Hague (South Holland) - Half year minor degree in Heritage & Design at the architecture faculty of TU Delft - Bachelors degree in applied physics at TU Delft and currently studying for a master in econometrics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam - Drivers License for vehicles up to 9 persons ---------------------- I do not guide inside museums. I'll provide some basic information on what to expect and can assist in arranging audio tours or museum guides.

Discover the beauty Holland has to offer, without all the crowds. During this walking tour I will take you trough The Hague. A town that started growing around a 13th century former court of the Counts of Holland. For what reason is the government of the Netherlands located in this city? When did we lynch our "prime minister"? Why do Dutch people jest that The Hague is a village? You will learn everything and more during this walk. The Hague is also one of the most picturesque places in the Netherlands with cosy squares, many canals and 2 imposing churches. One gothic one from the 14th century which has a perculier 6 sided tower, and one from the Dutch golden age, built when we started being protestant. We will also stroll past the parliament, a very intriguing building complex. And see where the Prime minister has his office. And why do a tour with me here? I lived almost my entire life in a town called Delft next to it, and I've been to this city many times.
My tours are flexible and it is always possible to make some changes in the itinerary. - Start of tour at Het Plein (The Hague train station or a hotel in The Hague is also possible) - Mauritshuis (17th century): Home to many renowned Dutch paintings, including the famous "Girl With a Pearl Earring" - Dutch Parliament: A building complex with roots dating back to the 13th century. - Prime Minister's Office (15th century) - Ridderzaal (13th century) - Lange Voorhout: The poshest street in The Hague. - Old "City" Hall(16th century) - The Great Church (14th century) - Noordeinde Royal Palace (17th century) - De Passage: A 19th-century indoor shopping street. - China Town - The New Church: (17th century) - Many other buildings: The Hague is home to 818 (!)
