Overview of your The Hague tour

In a 5 hours walking tour I will show you important monuments and sites related to the Pilgrim Fathers, who were in Leiden from 1609 to 1620, such as the Town Hall, the remains of the Church of Our Lady, the William Brewster Alley, St. Peters Church, Pesijnshof (where John Robinson used to live), the steps down the canal where the Pilgrims embarked, the Adriaensz. van der Werff monument and more. When open, we will also visit The American Pilgrim Museum in a house built in 1370 whose rooms recall Pilgrim times. Director of the Museum is Professor Jeremy Bangs, born in Oregon. After study at the University of Chicago, he completed his degree work at the University of Leiden (Ph. D. , 1976). Please note: The Pilgrim Museum is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays only (1 to 5 pm, entrance fee 5 euro)! We can extend our tour by going to other museums, the Pilgrim Fathers church in Delfshaven/Rotterdam or visit Delft/The Hague/Gouda/windmills (transportation not included).

My daughter and I can't say enough wonderful things about Walda. She is a fantastic guide - so knowledgeable, flexible, fun, and just lovely. We took a walking tour of Leiden (which was fascinating ), and then took the train to Den Haag to walk through the Mauritshuis. Her knowledge of Dutch history and Art is beyond and she shares her knowledge in a way that truly makes it come alive! She kept the day comfortably paced - and we learned so much - and had fun at the same time. Highly recommend!

Walda took us to Leiden today on the train and back to Amsterdam. Again as usual she was right on time and met us at Amsterdam Central Station for the fun train ride to Leiden. Walda has so much historical information in her head that she simply continues to amaze us! She showed us so many very interesting places in Leiden that were not in any of the usual tourist books and she knows so much about the small villages she makes their history come to life for us.
