Hallo! After graduating from TU Delft, I decided that I did not want to work as an engineer. Instead, I now guide people around in my own country, why not... My only unfulfilled wish is to guide you around! If you want a young, knowledgeable guide to show you around our most beautiful cities, look no further. Originally, I am from Rotterdam, and I have lived in Delft for many years, so you can call me a real local in South-Holland – That’s the most interesting part of the Netherlands anyway. Currently, I am running a tour company that I started in 2023. It was more of a hobby that got out of hand. By now, I work together with a large team of young, passionate guides that can guide anywhere in Holland. With a personal interest in history, politics and art, I am fully equipped to show you around our most interesting destinations. I very much enjoy telling stories to those interested to learn more about our history, culture and society. And even though I am quite good with exact years, I do like to keep it engaging too (i.e. not boring). Curious to find out for yourself? Get in touch with me and book a tour. I am available for private tours in The Hague, Delft, Rotterdam, Gouda and Leiden. Any combination is possible, and I am very flexible to adjust the tour to your preferences. On request, we can also visit museums, churches or other attractions in and around these destinations. Tot ziens, Robin - Fluent in English, Dutch and German - In possession of a car and boat driver’s license - Flexible itineraries possible, including museum visits - Knowledge of Dutch history and culture - Passionate storyteller

Join me on a tour through Delft, home to Johannes Vermeer, Delft Blue, William of Orange and much more. By the end of this tour, you’ll know more of Delft than most Delvenaren. Having lived and studied here for nearly a decade, I know this city very well. After about 200 walking tours, I’m excited to share my passion and knowledge with you, ensuring your visit is as engaging and informative as possible. Yes, I’ll tell you a lot about Delft's history, but it won’t be boring! Delft is one of our oldest and most picturesque cities. In the 17th century, when we were at the centre of the world (we still think we are), Delft was among the 5 most important cities in the Republic. Luckily, this history is still visible today, in Delft's beautifully preserved streets, canals, and architecture. Whether you're returning or visiting Delft for the first time, I will ensure a personalised and memorable experience. We can also include a visit to any of the city's attractions. And of course, you can ask me anything!
I can pick you up anywhere in the centre of Delft and start our tour there. Otherwise, we will meet next to the statue of Hugo Grotius, on Markt square, and the itinerary would be as follows: - New Church - Old Town Hall - Oldest Chemist in The Netherlands - Weighing House and Butter House - Meat Hall - House of Anthony van Leeuwenhoek - Old Church - Prinsenhof - Smallest museum of Delft - Water board - Smallest house of Delft - Orphanages - House of Jan Steen - Weapons Armoury - Dutch East India Company Delft - View of Delft - Old Synagogue - Cheese shop - House of Vermeer (the real one!) - Maria van Jessekerk - Beestenmarkt (2 minutes away from starting location) This route can take anywhere between 2 and 3 hours, or longer if we visit any museum/attraction
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
We will not be using any vehicle during the walking tour. If you want to visit Royal Delft Museum though, we can arrange a drop-off and pick-up there with an electric tuk-tuk.
Markt, Delft, Zuid-Holland, 2611 GS, Netherlands
We will meet next to the Hugo Grotius statue, on Markt square. This is in front of the New Church.
