Hello! I'm Yumi, a professional tour guide with over 10 years of experience. I mainly guide in Nikko, and I also offer tours in Nasu, Mashiko, Aizu and Ouchi-Juku Nikko and Ouchi-Juku are already popular with international visitors, but I would love to introduce you to the wonderful places that are still less known to travelers from abroad, especially Nasu and the Japanese countryside. These areas offer a peaceful and authentic side of Japan that you may not find in the usual tourist destinations. As a guide, I always try to explain Japanese history and culture in a simple and easy-to-understand way. I believe that leaning about the background and stories behind the places you visit can make your experience in Japan much more meaningful and enjoyable. One of the things I enjoy most about being a guide is meeting people from around the world and spending time together. I love getting to know my guests and sharing a fun and memorable experience with them. I also love cooking and have taught international guests how to make sushi. If you are interested in Japanese food and culture, I would be happy to share that with you too! I look forward to meeting you and sharing the beauty, history, and everyday life of Japan with you.

Discover the highlights of Nikko with a local guide and experience more than just its famous temple and shrines. Nikko is known for its magnificent UNESCO World Heritage sites, but behind the beautiful buildings are fascinating stories about Japanese history, religion, nature and traditions. I have been working as a guide for 10 years and always try to explain Japanese history and culture in a simple and easy-to-understand way. During this half-day tour, we will visit some of Nikko's most important sites, including Shinkyo Bridge, Rinnoji Temple, Toshogu Shrine, and Futarasan Shrine. I will share the stories and traditions behind what you see, rather than simply giving you facts. I especially enjoy meeting people from around the world and spending a fun and relaxed time together. Along the way, I can also introduce you to local food, customs, and everyday life in Japan. The itinerary is flexible, and we can adjust the place we visit according to your interests.
If you're on a day trip from Tokyo or somewhere, we'll meet at JR Nikko Station. - JR Nikko Station -Shinkyo Bridge -Rinnoji Temple -Toshogu Shrine -Futarasan Shrine If you 're coming from Tokyo on the Tobu Line, we can meet at Tobu Nikko Station. Also, if you're already staying in central Nikko, we can meet in the hotel lobby. As with every ToursByLocals tour, this is of course customizable. Please contact me using the orange 'message guide' button to discuss this. This tour does not include a lunch stop, but if you'd like, I can recommend a place to eat that suits your preferences. Please feel free to ask.

We will take a bus fir about 10 minutes, just from Nikko Station to the World Heritage site area. After that, since all the sights are adjacent to one another, we'll walk to visit them. Finally, we'll take the bus back to the station. You can also take a taxi if needed. If you are already staying in central Nikko, you can either walk or take a bus to the site, depending on where you're staying.
