Makiko was an outstanding guide Knowledgeable and friendly , speaks excellent English She took me to places I could never find on my own and tailored the tour to my interests We saw more in one day than I could have imagined possible - plus lunch at a local place , which was great Private tour with the ability to spend as much time as you like at the sites that interest you , I highly recommend She had Great communication before , and offered me many tips afterward for sites in other cities I was planning to visit

Makiko was great at responding to questions prior to the tour and even got in a call to get our preferences. We opt for a private tour with a car which she arranged and was very comfortable. The highlight was the lovely 7 generation sake brewery she took us to. Makiko is a sake sommelier in addition to being a guide so it was a real treat. She kept us on schedule and made call to lunch venues so we did not have to wait long. Overall, a lovely experience.

Makiko steered us through many not to be missed wonders of Tokyo and Nikko. We would never have known them without her. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

This was our second tour with Makiko. We visited Nikko, based on her wonderful suggestion. This was a beautiful day. We went on a gondala to see a beautiful waterfall. Then we went down to the bottom to see the waterfall from a much closer point. Makiko pointed out the cherry blossoms that were still in bloom and told us about the mini swallows that are located near the waterfall. We had a wonderful Japanese lunch at a fabulous historic hotel and then went to the Toshogu shrine and temple which left us speechless. Makiko explained everything about this Unesco site and all I can say is that it was amazing. We passed Shinkyo bridge where Makiko told us another story. This was probably one of our best tours ever taken, and we travel a lot. Makiko us an absolutely excellent guide

Makiko's knowledge about the landscape, the architecture and the history of Japan provided insights into Japanese culture. Our lovely lunch at a local restaurant introduced us to new foods and Sake, and Makiko's warm personality and flexibility as she attended to our every need created a memorable day.
