Hi, My name is Hisahi. Since I obtained the national license as a proffesional tour guide in 2017, I have guided foreign customers mainly at Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka! By using my expertise on Japanese literature, history and ceramics I can show you deep and distinctive local things of Kansai region. Since I was a little child, visual art has been one of my great interests. Western painters were the main source for my own paintings and drawings. But it was not until I met with Japanese and Chinese classics at college that I found and understood the beauty of the Japanese art! In Kyoto, four seasons vividly change; surrounded by middle-sized mountains the old capital is no short of seasonal attractions such as blooming of cherry blossoms, plum, peony, wisteria, water-lily, lotus, and all red autumn color - along with long-established big festivals: Aoi, Gion, and Jidai, adding many other Shinto ceremonies or Buddhist rituals. Even in its sultry summer of Kyoto, man-made beauties at Gion festival: the procession of gigantic floats decorated with intricate pieces of embroidery and paper-lanterns accompanied by the music of the many festival bands flourish! I will select the best places from top 15 spots in Kyoto-suited to the season or events of your trip-date. So this tour would consist of from 4 to 6 famous destinations of Kyoto during 8-hour trip. They are mainly World Heritage sites of UNESCO. I would provide a memorable one-day-tour in Kyoto for especially the first-time-visit customer. The following two itineraries are tipical ones for high-seasons of spring and autumm.
Hisashi led our family group of 8 (age 30 to 69) with authority, insight, and good humor. We were able to visit many highlights of this beautiful city with the benefit of his local knowledge. He provided exactly what we want from a local guide.
We had an incredible first day with Hisashi. He was kind, very knowledgeable and gave us an amazing first day in Kyoto. We had our family of 5 which was a perfect size for the group. He taught us so much and brought us all over Kyoto in our 8 hour tour. We would highly recommend Hisashi and an 8 hour tour for your first day in Kyoto.
Mr. Ohtake was a great tour guide for our group of four people. We specifically requested to see Kyoto fall foliage, so he took us to several World Heritage UNESCO sites with beautiful garden in their prime of the autumn foliage. He also chose sites that were amazingly beautiful but off the beaten path, so we avoided hoard of tourists! He was very thoughtful about making the days economically affordable by taking us to places for lunch that were inexpensive. He made our trip unforgettable. Evelyn
Ohtake is a terrific private guide. We were so pleased to see all the iconic places listed on his tour because we did not have very much time in Kyoto. We packed in a lot of sights and these were not all in the same vicinity. Had we tried to come up with the same itinerary, for certain, we would have gotten lost and may have missed a location due to admission time. We also appreciated Ohtake's insights (historical, cultural, and current) on Kyoto and perfect English!

We had a wonderful tour with Hisashi. our group consisted of 3 generations (the oldest a 90 year old), 2 wheelchairs and a special needs person. He was patient, friendly, and sensitive to all of our needs. We give him a rating of 5.
